The International Herald Tribune reports that research by Team Marketing Report (TMR) shows the average price of a general admission ticket this year was $48.90.
Ticket prices fell by 2.3 per cent in 2001-02.
The NBA was the only one of the four major US leagues to record a drop in average ticket price this year, according to TMR. NHL prices were up 0.1 per cent, NFL prices were up 3.9 per cent and MLB prices were up 5 per cent, thanks to the opening of two new venues for MLB teams in New York.
