Football Asia, which was founded by Jon Collins and Sean Tan, is a member of the Centurion Group, which is involved in private equity, asset management, real estate and leisure across Asia. It beat off competition to host the Soccerex event from bidders in Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Dubai.
“Asia is in love with European football and European football is in love with Asia. Soccerex is the global leader for the football industry and the Soccerex Asia Forum will act as the catalyst that brings these interest groups together. This event is a logical and long overdue step for the football industry,” said Jon Collins, CEO of Football Asia.
The inaugural Soccerex Asia Forum will be held in July 2010. It will be a 2-day event featuring a conference, an exhibition and a series of networking events.
Soccerex was started by Duncan Revie, son of former England and Leeds manager Don Revie, and is now in its 14th year. Football Asia has an option to extend the deal for an additional four years.
