Atos Origin announced as Olympic Gold Ball Presenting Partner

The British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced Atos Origin, the Worldwide Information Technology Partner for the Olympic Games, as its Olympic Gold Ball presenting partner for the sixth year running.

The Olympic Gold Ball raises money for the BOA to provide funding for athletes and help prepare Team GB for future successes in both the Summer of Winter Olympics. Over 50 Olympic medallists will attend, including Sir Matthew Pinsent, Denise Lewis and Duncan Goodhew.

“We are particularly proud of our long-term partnerships with the IOC, the BOA and Team GB – relationships based on enduring trust. Atos Origin is committed to the success of the BOA and Team GB and currently supports a number of young British athletes from across many sports through the Bursary Scheme, which we set up in association with the BOA in 2005,“ said Derek Ward, executive vice president at Atos Origin.

BOA Chief Executive Andy Hunt added: "The BOA is delighted that Atos Origin, the Worldwide IT Partner for the Olympic Games, is once again supporting the Olympic Gold Ball, which is such an important fundraising occasion for Team GB. This year’s event promises to be more memorable than ever, a true celebration of past British Olympic success and future ambition."

The Olympic Gold Ball will take place on October 29 at the Natural History Museum in London and will celebrate 1000 days to go until London hosts the 2012 Olympic Games.
