The deal, which will see the competition named the Friends Provident T20, will run from 2010 until the end of the 2013 domestic season. Under the terms of the agreement Friends Provident will receive a range of sponsorship assets including extensive in-ground advertising through perimeter boards, replay screens and dugouts.
"We are delighted to welcome Friends Provident as the title sponsor for the T20 and to continue to develop what is already a strong working relationship," said ECB Commercial Director John Perera.
"Friends Provident has shown a commitment to the sport for over a decade and the next four years will be another important period. T20 is set to be a hugely exciting competition next year and I am confident that, in partnership with Friends Provident, we will offer spectators an unforgettable season of entertaining cricket."
Friends Provident has been a long-time partner of cricket and the ECB, having previously been title sponsor of the ECB's domestic 50-over competition.
