Rogge re-elected IOC president

The International Olympic Committee's incumbent president Jacques Rogge has been voted in for a second term, until 2013.

Reuters reports that Rogge ran unopposed in the election. Rogge won 88 out of a total of 92 votes, with one vote against and three abstentions.

"We have accomplished a lot together. I am proud of our record of accomplishment for the past eight years," he said.

"We will continue to deliver outstanding Games, we will safeguard and strengthen our assets. We will be staunch allies for the athletes and continue the fight against doping."

Rogge took over as president in 2001 from Juan Antonio Samaranch.
