Gandolfi, who has until now fulfilled a consultancy role at Soccerex in a non-executive position, has been appointed to take Soccerex’s global marketing strategy “to the next level” in key football markets such as Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.
“From my initial dealings with Soccerex as a delegate, then as a non-executive director, I am excited to take on a more hands-on role as the company continues in its global expansion”, said Gandolfi.
Soccerex also announced Brian Barwick, former chief executive of The Football Association and head of sport at both BBC and ITV, joined as a Global Ambassador.
The Soccerex convention recently revealed it is moving to Rio de Janeiro, the city hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and that the annual London Forum will evolve into a two-day European Forum based in Manchester.
