2,500 hours of live TV for 2010 Asian Games

The 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China is planning 2,500 hours of live TV programming for the event.

The Games' broadcasting plans were revealed at the 1st World Broadcaster Meeting in Guangzhou.

Guangzhou Asian Games Broadcasting (GAB) will produce 2,500 hours of live TV programming with 700 hours produced in High Definition for worldwide TV rights-holders. GAB plans to use more than 45 international production teams to be "blended' with Chinese TV production teams from the Beijing Olympics.

Construction is on schedule for the new International Broadcast Centre (IBC), slated for completion in Spring 2010. Based in the new Asian Games Town, the IBC is adjacent to the Main Press Centre covering 50,000 square metres on four levels.

The Asian Games takes place from November 12-27 2010.
