Bloomberg reports that the total purse will now be $15 million, split between the Race to Dubai bonus competition and the Dubai World Championship. The winner of the bonus pool will get $1.5 million, and the winner of the Dubai World Championship will get $1.25 million.
“The European Tour has offered to reduce the prize money to reflect the current worldwide economic position and we will jointly examine prize money levels in future years in the light of this developing global situation,” said George O’Grady, chief executive officer of the European Tour.
