Eurosport signs exclusive deal for Champions League Twenty20

Pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport signed a deal with Asian broadcaster ESPN Star Sports for the exclusive broadcast rights to the inaugural Airtel Champions League Twenty20 tournament in India from October 8 to 23.

Under the terms of the deal Eurosport has exclusive, live, pan-European media rights for the tournament across television, internet, video-on-demand and mobile.

The competing teams are: English Twenty20 Cup finalists Somerset and Sussex; the Indian Premier League’s Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore; New South Wales Blues and Victorian Bushrangers from Australia; Cape Cobras and Diamond Eagles from South Africa; Otago Volts from New Zealand; Stanford 20/20 winners Trinidad & Tobago and Wayamba from Sri Lanka.

The top two teams from each pool will advance to the knockout stages with a total of 23 matches played over a 16 day period. The winning team will collect $3million in prize money.
