A consortium of local businessmen agreed a takeover of the UK's Great Leighs racecourse, in a move that should secure the all weather track's future.
Great Leighs racecourse opened in April 2008, but was forced to close in January 2009, going into administration just nine months after it opened.
According to the BBC, the consortium, led by Terry Chambers and horse owner Bill Gredley, hope to complete the takeover on September 29. They hope to resume racing by 2011, subject to being granted a licence.
