Three cities in running to host 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games

Guadalajara in Mexico, Nanjing in China, and Poznan in Poland have submitted candidature files to the International Olympic Committee in bids to host the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2014.

The files were handed in before a Friday 5pm deadline.

The files will be analysed by an IOC evaluation commission, which will prepare a report for submission to the IOC executive board and IOC members. The election of the host city will take place in February 2010 at the 122nd IOC Session in Vancouver.

The first Summer Youth Olympic Games takes place in Singapore in 2010, and the first Winter Youth Olympic Games takes place in Innsbruck in 2012.
