Dallas Cowboys top American football's rich list again

Forbes has valued the Dallas Cowboys at $1.65 billion, making it the most valuable team in the NFL, and the second-most valuable team in world sport behind Manchester United.

The International Herald Tribune reports that the Cowboys top the NFL list for the third year in a row. Their nearest rival is the Washington Redskins, valued at $1.55 billion, who also recorded the most revenues last year, $345 million. Next is the New England Patriots, valued at $1.36 billion), who recorded the second highest revenues, $302 million. The top five is closed out by the two New York teams, the Giants ($1.18 billion) and the Jets ($1.17 billion).

Out of the 32 NFL teams, 19 were valued at more than $1 billion. The team with the lowest value is the Oakland raiders, at $797 million.

The average value of a team in the NFL is $1.042 billion, the same as last year.
