Al-Jazeera has deals with UK-based channels to provide news reports and interviews, said Mohammed Ammor, a director at Al Jazeera, in an interview Emirates Business, as reported by Rapid TV News.
The broadcaster already shows sports and children’s content, alongside its core business of news content. Its sports coverage includes Uefa Champions League matches, Italian Serie A football, and NBA basketball.
“The new Arabic-language channel aims to enlighten viewers about what is happening in the world of sports and provide them with comprehensive coverage of the most important international events," said Ammor.
