Inter Milan to unveil new stadium plans at Sports Venue Summit

Italian football club Inter Milan will introduce its plans for its new 60,000-seat stadium at this year’s SPONSORs Sports Venue Summit, which takes place in Munich on September 7 and 8.

The plans will be revealed in by stadium consultant Nicholas Gancikoff, who is in charge of the project, at a session on the first day of the summit on the impact of the European Championships football tournament on stadium infrastructure. Gancikoff will be joined in the session by Ulrik Ruhnau, vice president of business development at Sportfive; Thomas Speck, vice president of Wroclaw 2012 – one of the Polish venues for Euro 2012; and Michael Siebold of law firm Chancellery Arnecke Siebold.

Details already known about Inter’s new stadium are that it will feature 150 VIP boxes and up to 5,000 corporate seats. It is due to be completed by 2014 and Italian football hopes that it will form an important part of the country’s bid to host Euro 2016.
