“With Korea's Yang Yong-eun's historic victory at the US PGA Championship…the Asian Tour's reputation for cultivating world beaters has been strengthened,” the Tour said in a statement, as reported by Reuters.
The new deal is for three and a half years, and adds coverage of the Macau Open, Malaysia’s Iskandar Johor Open and the Cambodian Open to BSkyB’s coverage of Asian Tour golf, which previously only included events co-sanctioned by the European Tour.
In separate news, Reuters reports that the Singapore Open event on the Asian Tour, taking place October 29 to November 1, will be co-sanctioned by the European Tour.
