Sony to explain value of $305m FIFA partnership

Electronics giant Sony will explain why it believes the FIFA World Cup is one of the most important sponsorship vehicles for the entertainment industry in a session at the Soccerex 2009 conference.

Earl Patton Junior, of the FIFA Partnership Project Office at Sony’s Global Sponsorship Group, will discuss the development and management of the company’s sponsorship portfolio and explain how football fits within its marketing initiatives. Sony Corporation signed a seven-year, $305 million sponsorship deal with FIFA in 2007.

The session is one of ten at the Soccerex conference being hosted by rights-holders and stakeholders in the football industry. Other hosts include Bundesliga & DFL Sports Enterprises GmbH, Tottenham Hotspur & KSS, Manchester City & Endemol Sports, and Glenn Hoddle Academy.

The Soccerex 09 Convention takes place November 30 to December 2 at Johannesburg, South Africa.
