Reuters reports that French Alpine town Annecy, Munich, and Pyeongchang in South Korea have confirmed their intention to bid, while a bid is also expected from Harbin in North East China.
National Olympic Committees must name candidate cities by October 15. The IOC will confirm what bids have been accepted next June. The candidate cities will then submit to the IOC details of their plans to host the event. The winner will be announced by the IOC at a meeting in Durban in July 2011.
