The deal covers the 2009-10 season, and will see Deutsche Telekom having sponsorship rights at all 63 DFB Cup matches, including branded advertising boards in view of television cameras and on-site promotional rights. All matches of the competition are being shown like on pay-broadcaster Sky, with eight matches also being shown by free-to-air broadcasters ARD/ZDF.
The deal completed Infront’s sale of TOP partner-category sponsorships for the competition, which began July 31. Infront has been marketing the rights for eight months.
