Germany could lose its Grand Prix in 2010 as one of its two F1 venues is struggling to find the resources to host the race.
Autosport.com reports that the Nurburgring and Hockenheim have a deal by which they host the event on alternate years, but Hockenheim may not be able to fulfil its side of the bargain after local city and state authorities pulled funding. Autosport also reports that the Nurgburgring managing director Walter Kafitz has ruled out stepping in to host the bid, unless the race fee was reduced.
Autosport said talks between the Baden-Wurttemberg prime minister Gunther Oettinger and Bernie Ecclestone, scheduled for last weekend’s German Grand Prix, did not take place following the controversy over Ecclestone’s comments about Adolf Hitler.
