DFL Sports Enterprises has completed deals with three broadcasters to show Bundesliga games in Brazil for the next three seasons.

Under the terms of the agreement ESPN will broadcast up to three live matches as well as a round-up of weekend highlights. TV networks Band Sports and Esporte Interativo will also show extensive coverage.

“Mexico and Brazil are due to their size and great enthusiasm for soccer the most important markets in Latin America. The new deals, especially the ones in Brazil, give Bundesliga an enormous boost and a strong position on all important platforms,” said Dr. Robert Niemann, CEO of DFL Sports Enterprises.

Jörg Daubitzer, COO of DFL Sports Enterprises, added: “The Bundesliga is one of the most popular leagues in Brazil as well as in Mexico due to its history of well-known Latin-American soccer players and also current players such as Grafite, Josué, Lucio and Osorio. The excellent TV ratings and the improved commercial terms demonstrate the popularity of German soccer in Latin-America.”

In addition DFL Sports Enterprises has reached a new deal with its long-term partner in Mexico, TVC Deportes Sports Channel, to continue to broadcast Bundesliga games.
