Swedish technology company Tracab is providing Fifa with match statistic recording services for the Confederations Cup and next year’s World Cup, under the first deal of its kind for football’s governing body.
Tracab’s technology is being used to track every run, pass, shot and save in the Confederations Cup, currently underway in South Africa. It is first time that Fifa has used such a system at a major tournament.
The system delivers data on these match events as they happen for use by broadcasters in on-screen graphics and analysis, and for managers and coaches.
