Doha and Rome are the final additions to the list of venues for athletics’ new Diamond League series, beginning 2010.
After an initial 12 venues had been announced in March, Doha, Rome and Berlin remained under consideration for a place on the tour. The IAAF said in press release that only Doha and Rome fulfilled the necessary criteria. But the Track and Field News website reported that the organisers of the Berlin meet said they had decided not to join the Diamond league.
The 14-venue calendar was confirmed at a meeting of the general assembly of the Diamond League, which is being run by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
The provision 2010 calendar is:
