Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has extended its Champions League sponsorship agreement with Uefa for its PlayStation brand for the 2009 to 2012 period.

PlayStation becomes the fifth official partner to sign for the period, joining Heineken, Sony, UniCredit and MasterCard.

“We are very pleased that such a global player has chosen to renew its agreement with UEFA and with the UEFA Champions League,” said Uefa General Secretary David Taylor. “This extension proves what a strong relationship we have and that the UEFA Champions League continues to be an important part of PlayStation's communication strategy.”

The deal was brokered by the TEAM Marketing agency, which handles the Champions League media and marketing rights.
