The NBA Finals drew more than twice the viewership of the NHL Stanley Cup Final last night, according to research by Nielsen.

According to Bloomberg, 9.8 million US households watched the Orlando Magic beat the Los Angeles Lakers 108-104, narrowing the Lakers’ lead in the best-of-seven series to two games to one, on the Disney-owned ABC network.

3.9 million US households watched the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 to tie the best-of-seven series 3-3 in the Stanley Cup Final on the rival NBC network.

Both games have drawn fewer viewers than last year when they weren’t in competition with one another.
