African banking group Standard Bank has appointed Revolution Sports Marketing Group to manage its sponsorship of the ICC World Twenty20.
Revolution’s role under the terms of the deal will include media relations, rights consultancy, on-site activation and hospitality management.
“The bank has previously worked with Revolution on cricket related projects, and its experience in the sport makes them ideally placed to work alongside Standard Bank to activate the rights which this prestigious sponsorship delivers,” said Dave Tod, director of marketing & communications for Standard Bank in London.
Rod Kohler, PR Director at Revolution added: “Having collaborated with Standard Bank in 2008, we’re delighted to now be working closely with the London and Johannesburg teams on this major international sponsorship. Revolution’s PR and marketing work in cricket now encompasses all the major ICC tournaments plus The Ashes, and the agency has an in-depth knowledge base within the sport.”
Revolution has also been appointed by Standard Bank to provide consultancy and media relations for the Standard Bank Cup – two home and away rugby union matches being played between England and Argentina.
