IOC extends with Atos Origin through to 2016

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced yesterday that it has extended to its current partnership with international information technology services company Atos Origin.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced yesterday that it has extended to its current partnership with international information technology services company Atos Origin.

As the Worldwide IT Partner for the Olympic Games, Atos Origin is responsible for developing, running and securing key information systems for the Games including management systems for accreditation, workforce management, medical services, sports entries and athletes’ qualification.

Atos Origin has been Worldwide IT Partner for the Olympic Games since 2001 and will continue through to 2016 including the 2014 Winter and 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

“The Olympic Games would not happen without the use of Information Technology,” said IOC president Jacques Rogge. “We rely on Atos Origin’s world class expertise and experience, and I am absolutely delighted to announce that the IOC will continue its partnership with Atos Origin for a further four years through to 2016.”

Thierry Breton, chairman and CEO of Atos Origin, added: “We are particularly proud of our long-term partnership with the International Olympic Committee - a relationship based on enduring trust. We will continue to surpass ourselves from one Olympiad to the next, and will commit to deliver high level services as part of our mission for the Olympic Games.”

Worldwide Partners currently confirmed for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver and the 2012 Summer Games in London are Coca-Cola, Atos Origin, GE, McDonald’s, Omega, Panasonic, Samsung and Visa. Panasonic and Samsung have joined Atos Origin in extending their partnerships until 2016, with Coca-Cola’s partnership committed through to 2020.
