UN Special Adviser Wilfried Lemke has congratulated the Generations for Peace initiative for its work, during the IOC’s International Form on Sport, Peace and Development.

The founder of Generations for Peace, HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein of Jordan, addressed the Forum and said that sport can help promote the idea of peace amongst young people, and that “every member of the Olympic family [had] a massive role to play in helping create peace and harmony between divided peoples”.

His audience included IOC president Jacques Rogge, IOC international relations secretary general Mario Pescante, and IOC Honorary President Juan Antonio Samaranch.

Since 2007, Generations For Peace has held three camps which have brought together youth leaders from divided communities for training in use of sport to unite young people.
