UK race car manufacturer Lola is considering re-entering Formula One in 2010, prompted by the race series’ commitment to lowering entry costs.
Lola executive chairman Martin Birrane said, “The current necessity for F1 to adopt a responsible approach in times of economic uncertainty has created the ideal conditions for us to consider developing a car for the world championship.”
Autosport.com reports that the Huntingdon-based company is conducting a full technical, operationally and financial evaluation of the project.
Lola has a history of building Formula One cars, and last entered the series in 1997 with a short-lived and unsuccessful team.
