The US Olympic Committee (USOC) has signed tax and financial services company Deloitte as a sponsor until 2012.
Deloitte will become the Official Professional Services Sponsor of audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services. Its subsidiary companies will contribute by offering a variety of in-kind professional services to the USOC.
Under the deal, Deloitte will also sponsor the 2010 and 2012 US Olympic and Paralympic Teams, as well as the 2011 US Pan American Team and the 2010 US Team for the Youth Olympic Games.
“We believe the business community has a powerful role to play in answering the call to service to help nonprofit organizations deliver results,” said Barry Salzberg, Deloitte LLP CEO. “There is no better opportunity to put the intellectual capital and business knowledge of our people to work than through the delivery of our exceptional professional services capabilities for the strategic, operational, and financial benefit of the USOC and US Olympic and Paralympic athletes and hopefuls.”
Deloitte becomes the 18th company under contract with the USOC for the next four years. Although financial terms were not disclosed, most USOC sponsors pay between $10 million and $15 million for a four-year deal.
USOC is currently working on renewing sponsorships with Bank of America and AT&T. It is also looking for new sponsors in the automotive, home improvement and cereal categories.
