Bulgarian mobile telecoms provider GLOBUL and the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) have extended their sponsorship deal until the summer of 2010.
Under the terms of the deal, GLOBUL will remain the official mobile operator partner and will advertise its brand and services with Bulgarian national football teams. GLOBUL will also award a special bonus if the team qualifies for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
In a statement, GLOBUL, Bulgaria's second-largest mobile operator, said the partnership “is one of the main priorities of the company's sponsorship policy".
"The financial assistance extended to the Bulgarian national football team is amongst the most important activities of Globul, that and the support of Bulgarian sports and athletes," the statement read.
GLOBUL and the Bulgarian national team have been partners since 2003. The deal extension was brokered by the BFU’s marketing partner SPORTFIVE.
