Digital sports media company Tracab has agreed new deals with the Swedish, Russian, Austrian and Hungarian football leagues for use of its tracking and image processing technology.

The new deal means Tracab’s technology will be used to cover over 850 live matches during 2009.

Tracab’s service captures on-field movements of players, officials and the ball, and the data is used to create graphics and replays for analysis by broadcasters and for 3D animated match representations provided by internet and mobile sports media operators. Tracab currently supplies Uefa with similar data, through a partnership with media services company Delta Tre.

Tracab uses image processing technology created by its partner the Swedish engineering firm Saab.
