Watchmaker Omega has renewed its deal as official timekeeper for the iShares Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Series to cover the next three years.
Omega has worked with the event’s organiser C Events since 2001, when it began supporting UK sailing star Ellen MacArthur. The company has been official timekeeper for other recent OC events including The Transat, in 2004, and The Artemis Transat, in 2008.
The 2009 iShares cup will visit the shores of the UK, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Italy in a series of three-day events beginning with Venice, Italy in May, and ending with Almería, Andalucía, in October.
