Pay-broadcasters Fox Sports Latin America and NovaSports have acquired rights for football’s Champions League for the seasons 2009-10 to 2011-12.
Fox Sports Latin America acquired the rights in Central and Latin America excluding Brazil, replacing ESPN as Uefa’s broadcast partner in the region. It will show live matches each matchday, as well as highlights and delayed matches. Its rights package includes the Uefa Super Cup from 2009 to 2011, and internet and mobile rights.
NovaSports will replace On Telecoms as Uefa’s pay-broadcast partner in Greece. All live matches each matchweek, except the first pick live matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as well as highlights each mtachnight and the weekly Champions League magazine programme will be shown by NovaSports. The first pick matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be shown by free-to-air broadcasters Mega and ERT respectively, under separate deals.
All the deals were agreed between the broadcasters and Team Marketing AG, which is the exclusive seller of Champions League media rights on behalf of Uefa.
