A group of Kuwaiti investors are prepared to buy Liverpool Football Club if the owners lower the asking price.
One of the potential investors, Refad al-Kharafi, told Reuters that the investor group could be interested if the owners – Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett – were willing to renegotiate their £500 million valuation, but that “it remained a group decision.” Al-Kharafi said the price was “not realistic today”, given the current global financial climate.
"This is a good opportunity if the price is right,” he said. “If they changed the price, probably investors (in general) will be interested."
Al Kharafi said the last time the two parties had talked was at the end of January. The identities of the other investors have not been revealed.
