The press office of the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia said the Government has managed to save 15 per cent of the overall cost of infrastructure and Olympic venues construction projects.
The office made the following statement:
“In the meeting with the Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Kozak said that the Russian Government has managed to save 15% of the overall cost of infrastructure and Olympic venues construction projects included into the program of Sochi development as a mountain-climate resort. Kozak highlighted that the number of venues and their quality remain precisely the same.
“The significant savings were reached because of the reduction of construction materials costs and the optimization of expenses. He also outlined that following a comprehensive state assessment of construction documentation including four Olympic venues an opportunity to reduce the planned cost of the project by 7,5 billion rubles was identified.”
