UEFA announced South African pay-operator SuperSport has secured the exclusive media rights for the Champions League and Europa League from 2009-10 to 2011-12.

SuperSport will show games primarily on its SuperSport 3, 5 and 6 channels. Under the deal, SuperSport will show at least three live UEFA Champions League matches each match night, highlights, delayed matches and the weekly magazine programme. There will also be one live match and one delayed match each matchweek on free-to-air channel e.tv.

The deal also includes the UEFA Super Cup 2009, 2010 and 2011.

SuperSport will show two live Europa League matches each matchweek (one from the early kick-off and one from the late kick-off) as well as highlights and delayed matches.

South African residents will also be able to access both competitions on the Internet via www.supersport.co.za and www.supersport.com as well as via the Supersport mobile portal.
