Telecoms company BT has agreed a new four-year deal to become title sponsor of the Paralympic World Cup, the largest annual international competition in elite disability sport.

The deal includes rights for extensive branding at all events, tickets and other marketing rights. BT staff will also have opportunities to become involved with the events through volunteering.

This year’s Paralympic World Cup takes place in Manchester, England, on May 20th to 25th. Television partner the BBC will have a live broadcast from the event, from the Manchester Aquatics Centre, on May 25th.

BT has also added leading paralympic athlete, South Africa’s Oscar Pistorius, nicknamed ‘Blade Runner’ because of the distinctive design of his artificial lower legs, to its ‘Ambassador Programme’. The programme is designed to encourage BT employees and customers to become volunteers, coaches and mentors for young UK athletes hoping to compete in the London 2012 Olympics. Pistorius joins athletes including Dame Kelly Holmes and Chris Hoy on the programme.
