The UK race circuit which lost the right to host the British Formula One Grand Prix will host the British MotoGP from 2010, under a new five-year deal with Dorna Sports, MotoGP's commercial rights holder.
Donington Park will host this year’s British MotoGP event, but will pass the mantle to Silverstone for 2010, when Donington will take over hosting the Formula One grand prix, reports The Guardian newspaper. Donington is due for extensive renovation to prepare it for the 2010 Formula One season.
Silverstone previously hosted the British motorcycle grand prix from 1977 to 1986.
