Sportswear manufacturer Puma has appointed New York based marketing agency Syrup to promote its Teamsport business, which includes football, rugby, handball and cricket.  Syrup will be responsible for developing strategy, creative direction and campaign creative for Teamsport marketing programmes.

The multi-year deal will see Syrup particularly focus on advertising Puma’s football business around the 2010 Fifa World Cup.  Syrup’s first work under the deal will appear in spring this year, as it markets Puma’s involvement with North America’s top women’s football league, Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS).

Syrup joins agencies Droga5 and ZenithOptimedia on Puma’s roster.
