Turner joins Sportaccord speaker line-up

Legendary media business pioneer Ted Turner has joined the list of speakers confirmed for Sportaccord 2009 from March 23-27 in Denver, Colorado. Along with the CNN founder, the speaker line-up will also feature NBC Universal Sports & Olympics Chairman Dick Ebersol and more high-profile speakers are being confirmed.

With Sportaccord taking place in North America for the first time, a highlight of the conference programme will be an unprecedented summit session featuring the heads of North American professional leagues and their counterparts from the international federations, moderated by former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver and a senior executive from the NHL will engage Patrick Baumann (International Basketball Federation) and René Fasel (International Ice Hockey Federation) in a discussion on competition and collaboration between American leagues and world governing bodies.

The seventh edition of the convention will take place at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Centre.  With expected attendance of 1500 delegates from 500 organisations around the world, Sportaccord in Denver will again enable the sports community opportunity to come together on a global scale, in an exclusive and unique environment, to build relationships, exchange knowledge and develop ideas.

Online registration is now open for Sportaccord 2009 at www.sportaccord.com <http://www.sportaccord.com> .

Sportaccord Week will feature a dynamic exhibition, numerous networking receptions and top-level conference sessions, including the new City Forum, as well as the annual general meetings of the Sports Governing Bodies. The four Candidate Cities for hosting the 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be exhibitors and will make presentations during the conference.

A full house of sponsors and exhibitors are once again supporting Sportaccord, led by returning Gold Sponsors Contemporary Group, GL Events, IEC in Sports and Macau Sport Development Board. An increase in the level of sponsorship participation and investment as well as in the number of exhibition stands are further indications of the growing importance of Sportaccord.
