ESPN acquires Women's British Open rights

US broadcaster, ESPN, agreed an eight year deal to show all four rounds of the Ricoh Women’s British Open live on ESPN with the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

Under the deal, which begins in 2010, ESPN will show 12 live hours of Championship play over the four days as well as same-day Sunday encore coverage on ABC. It is the first time that all four rounds will be aired live in the United States. The broadcaster also acquired broad and comprehensive rights for digital platforms; and expanded television and digital media rights for ESPN International.
