Barloworld, will continue to sponsor professional cycling team, Team Barloworld, until 2009 despite announcing that it was pulling out after doping scandals at the Tour de France.
In a statement to the press Chris Fisher, head of Corporate Marketing at the industrial brand management company, said that the decision made five months ago had been reversed and that the company’s sponsorship had been "both successful and popular".
The team withdrew from this year’s Tour de France, and from cycling in general, when one of its riders, Spaniard Moises Duenas, tested positive for the banned blood enhancer EPO. An official announcement of riders and the event roster for the 2009 season will be announced within the next few days.
