The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) granted USA Hockey rights to host three IIHF World Championships.
The Championships include the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championship, the 2011 World U20 Championship and the 2012 World Women's Championship. In addition, Buffalo, New York, will host the 2011 World Junior Championships.
In a statement to the press, USA Hockey president Ron DeGregorio, said: "Buffalo is a wonderful city and we could not be more pleased to be bringing the world juniors to Western New York. The Sabres are a first-class organisation and the participants and fans from around the world will have the chance to experience that first hand."
The tournament will run from December 26, 2010 to January 6, 2011.
