Football Association chairman Lord Triesman called for more Premier League cash to reach Football League clubs.
Speaking at the FT Sport Summit, Triesman said that while the Premier League, to its credit, does distribute money “it is only a degree of equalisation.
“You could imagine greater solidarity payments between different parts of the system,” said Triesman. "One of the things that concerns me a great deal is the financial frailty as you go further down the pyramid through many clubs which are integral to their towns."
The Premier League presently pays £30 million-a-year to the Football League, including parachute payments to the three relegated clubs, Triesman called for more parity.
