The first phase of ticket sales for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games packages are selling out and individual requests are increasing daily, according to Canadian Press reports.
Jean-Paul Modde, president of CoSport, the official hospitality provider for the Vancouver Games said that around 120 packages containing tickets to the gold medal men's hockey game had sold out within two weeks, whilst packages that include tickets to the Opening Ceremony were also selling quickly.
The packages include other event tickets, accommodation, and in some cases transportation and meals and range in price from $3,800 to $34,500. The packages are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis and remain on sale until they are all gone, in comparison to the individual tickets being sold.
Individual tickets are purchased by filling out request forms that are being accepted until November 7. If demand outstrips the number of tickets available they will be allocated by lottery. Once the lottery phase ends people who submitted applications will be able to buy leftover tickets.
