Pan-European broadcaster, Eurosport, agreed a two year deal with Powerboat F1 for the rights for the rights for the UIM Powerboat P1 World Championship.
Under the deal, which runs from 2008 to 2009, Eurosport 1 will broadcast the Grand Prix of the Sea events, with the first broadcast planned for Tuesday 28 October as well as highlights from the season. Repeat programming will take place on Eurosport 2.
Powerboat P1 Commercial Director, Robert Wicks, said: “We are delighted to have agreed this partnership which will offer Powerboat P1 a significant increase in visibility through Eurosport’s multimedia platform. With coverage in 59 countries, we are going to see a real boost to the profile of the series and believe it will add tremendous value for the teams and their sponsors.”
Eurosport is is transmitted in 20 languages and has a reach of 115 million homes and 240 million viewers across 59 countries.
