Details of the 2008 ESA European Sponsorship Awards shortlist have been released, following an excellent response to this year’s event, with entries received from 11 European countries.
The shortlist, which is available in full at http://www.sponsorship.org/awShortlist.asp, includes iShares Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Series 2008, which has been named in both the Business to Business and International categories. Also featuring in the International category are Castrol’s UEFA Euro2008™ Sponsorship, Team Visa Beijing 2008 and The Artemis Transat.
Elsewhere, global oil company, Shell, has two short-listed projects in Business to Community and the Business to Consumer categories. HBOS also has two short-listed entries, with Bank of Scotland Midnightleague in Business to Community and Bank of Scotland totalART in Business to Consumer.
The panel of independent experts - Helen Day (Head of European Policy, ESA), Dominic Lyle (Director-General of EACA - the European Association of Communications Agencies), Anders Stenlund (Vice-Chair of the ICC Marketing Commission), Mike Reynolds (former chief executive of SportsMatch England) and Ems Magnus (former head of public relations and sales promotion Canon Europe), now face the difficult task of debating the shortlist and selecting the category winners.
The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in Brussels on Thursday November 20, as part of ESA’s two-day flagship conference, Future Sponsorship. The Ceremony will be hosted by Eurosport.
This year’s Awards will also benefit from a number of other important partnerships, as industry supplier, Icon will be producing the staging and signage and Action Images will be the official event photographer.
