US network, ESPN, is to re-brand and re-launch its premier rugby website, Scrum.com.

The site, which will be integrated further into the ESPN digital suite of websites, will be rebranded as ESPNscrum.com. The new design will incorporate improved usability, a new look and feel, and enhanced match, player, stats and news content.

In addition, the Official Car of England Rugby, Land Rover, will be the exclusive launch partner for the re-branding and re-launch of the site. The agreement will also see Land Rover’s brand incorporated into all promotional communications for ESPNscrum.com, including offline and event marketing built around the re-launch.

Tom Gleeson, Vice President Digital Media, ESPN EMEA, said: “Scrum is the original rugby site on the web, and with this re launch it places ESPNscrum.com at the heart of ESPN Digital. Land Rover has proved to be long-term supporter of rugby, and we are sure that this association will have a true resonance for ESPNscrum’s loyal and growing user base. There is a very strong correlation between the two brands’ users, and we see it as a very natural relationship at this major moment in the evolution of Scrum.com.”
