Venezuela is to ratify its application for the 2015 Pan American Games, according to Latin American news agency, Prensa Latina.
President of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee, Eduardo Alvarez, told news agency that the bid has the support of 10 of the 42 nations voting on the 2015 bid, including Argentina, Cuba and Aruba, adding that President Hugo Chavez has endorsed a 2015 Pan Am bid, but the Minister of Sports still has to grant financial support.
The bid will be submitted to the Assembly of the Pan American Sports Organisation being held in Acapulco Mexico between October 9 and 11. A leader for the bid has not yet been selected.
