Manufacturer and supplier of gymnastics equipment, Gymnova, has agreed a new sponsorship deal with AEG Europe, owners and operators of The O2 in London, and British Gymnastics.
Under the deal, Gymnova will become the exclusive equipment supplier to the 2009 Artistic Gymnastic World Championships. The manufacturer will supply and maintain the entire range of gymnastic equipment for the competition which will be held at The O2 in October 2009.
President of Gymnova, Olivier Estèves, said: “Gymnova is eager to extend its links with Gymnastics communities worldwide. This World Championships will significantly raise the profile of the Gymnova range of equipment and will help underline the company’s commitment to supporting the development of gymnastics both within the United Kingdom and around the world.”
The 2009 Artistic Gymnastic World Championships is organised by the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) and is one of the world's most prestigious gymnastics competitions. The six day event, which will be held at The O2 in London in October 2009, is expected to attract nearly 1000 participants from more than 100 countries with an audience of 16,500 each day. The BBC will act as the host broadcaster to a domestic and international audience which last year saw the championships distributed to an estimated 200 territories worldwide.
